Culinarium is a card management cooking game where you stack ingredients to create recipes and cook dishes.

New Update: You can now Wishlist Culinarium on Steam :)

For example, if you cut some Salmon slices on a cutting board and stack them with rice, soy sauce, and wasabi, you'll make a Salmon Nigiri.

You can think about it as Stacklands meeting Overcooked.

You open booster packs to get cards that you can then stack to make various dishes that you'll sell. With money you can buy more booster packs and unlock new ingredients, kitchen tools, and recipes.

You'll have to deal with random events from time to time like a rat trying to eat your ingredients, a fire, or a complicated food critic.

There are 2 game modes:

- An Adventure mode where you have to cook your way up across 4 Acts ( Italy, US, Japan and France ) to become the best chef.

- A free mode where you can cook the way you want.

( Not yet implemented ) : You'll be able to unlock permanent bonuses to make your next run easier and go a bit further!

Idk if I'm doing anything wrong but in level 2 i don't have an oven. My question is how do you get/buy cards of tools, like oven and stuff?

And what is the function of the recipes cards? Like, i can get more than one of the same recipe, does this have a purpose? I'm having a bit of trouble undertanding the game, sorry

Hi, thanks a lot for your message :)

In Level 2, you don't have a oven in the beginning, the only way is to buy a oven once you reach the shop ( level 5 ). Then if you replay level 2 ( or the other levels ) you'll have the oven you bought

There's only a oven cars in the 2 special stages by default.

For he recipe cards, they just tell you how to make a recipe, and in the left panel ( if you check the left side of the screen there should be a little arrow button ) you'll be able to see again the discovered recipes.

You can then sell the recipe cards

Also, I could not fix before releasing that version, but normally once you find a recipe once, you don't loot it again ( as it would become quickly annoying  ๐Ÿ˜… )

I hope it answers your questions, and thanks again for the feedback :)

hey! I found this because I have been searching for resources on making a game with these same mechanics. Also using unity, and am rather new to it. (Mainly do design but am expanding out to unity)

Anyways, I would love to learn more about how you are setting these interactions up! I am having the hardest time with the dumbest things like cards attaching and moving with others, or knowing what is in the stack.... and a lot more ha.

Thanks!

Thanks ! I don't know when I'll get time to make some videos about it but I'll try !

I am using Unity,

There are ways to make game objects draggable, the other cards should become children of the " main " card so it moves with it when dragging it basically.

I got to the "Foccacia Sandwich" Event, but I cannot make any -- there are no bread ingredients, and I have been getting a feature (?) where I cannot make complex recipes, such as a tomato mozza salad, when I stack the ingredients.

Hi, I really need to check, you are the second to mention an issue with the foccacia sandwich level ๐Ÿ˜…  you need to make a pizza dough + olive oil, in the oven to make foccacia. For Pizza dough I believe it's : yeast, flour, water and salt in the mixing bowl.  I think salt is in condiments and sauce ( with olive oil ) water in beverage and yeast and flour in the grain and seeds I think. But I'll double check ๐Ÿ˜… sorry for that.

For the tomato mozza salada it should be : cut tomato, sliced Mozza and olive oil in the mixing bowl. If it's not working, maybe there was a stacking bug that happened, if you try again it should work ( in another level ).

I'll try to fix these, thanks :)

Same issue here - there is no option to buy bread ingredients on the level, so can't make focaccia to make the sandwiches

Ran into an issue where I'm on the level to make Focaccia Bread, but don't have the booster pack options to buy ingredients for Focaccia. (I tried to post a screenshot, but couldn't post my comment :|)

Definitely still needs some work with balancing, UI responsiveness, bugs, etc, but it looks promising and fun! Following it on Steam!

Hi, Thanks for the feedback ! I'll check to see what might have happened.

Glad you like the idea of the game :)

the rat ate my chef!

also I think the tomato sauce doesn't work

Haha ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜… that was not supposed to happen lol. What did happen with the tomato sauce .?

I think this is a great idea, and with some more content and polish could end up being a great game.

That said there's a couple of glitches I'd like to report. Firstly, the quests and recipes menu on the side just stopped working at some point, I could still scroll up and down but I couldn't swap between menus or dismiss it.

Second, you can process the same ingredient multiple times by putting it in a different tool while it's being processed. For instance, I put the chef and tomato on a cutting board, before it's finished move the tomato onto the bowl, when the chef finishes you have chopped tomatoes and the original tomato stays in the bowl

Thanks for the feedback :)

I am going to dig into these bugs to correct them ๐Ÿซก.

That's a nice way to get more ingredients haha but I'll correct that for sure.

This is excruciating. The random element and the timers make progress nigh impossible only made worse by needing to find recipes. No idea what each booster could contain either, so even having a recipe is useless. Also, what's a "pizzaiolo"? This game has promise, but as is is terrible.

Oh god, I should have stopped after posting that comment. I can only farm "Essential Grocery" packs and wish on a lucky star and then I open a pack with 5 water cards....

Oh sorry ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜… I hear you, I really need to balance it a bit and explain how it works better ๐Ÿ˜…

I think that the timer on the cards makes it quite stressful, especially since it's hard to figure out how to make recipes. They always seem to have one thing in them that I don't know how to make still. A tutorial might help with this (I saw there was a quests tab, but it wasn't of much help after the first minute.) Nice music tho

Thanks for the feeback ! I plan to add some way of " pausing " the game, to be able to read more info and have time to figure out and plan a bit so it's less " stressful " :) a better tutorial will be on the way as well

very nice, reminds me of cookard.
There's a bug where if a card expires in a stack it looks like the game thinks the card is still in the stack.

I plan to make a video about all the games similar to stacklands. Do you mind if I include yours?

Thanks for the bug report, I'll add it to my bug list and correct it :)

Sure, you can include it, please share the link to the video or your channel so I can check it out :)

I don't know Cookard but I am going to check it ^^

nice. Btw, Ui is not the best, a lot of text touches the border

If i do make the vid it's gonna be at Card Pillars channel

There are also 1 or two more stacklands-like cooking games, but they aren't released yet if I remember correctly

Thanks, I'll adjust the UI, true, the text often touches ๐Ÿ˜… . I'll keep an eye on the channel then :) I'm going to update the game this week from the early feedback, bugs and visual problems and so on.

Hey :) I started making updates and changes to the game if you wanna give it another shot when you have time :)
